We believe that Xena was abandoned because of the secluded location where she was found.
This means someone chose to leave her to her own devices, despite being so terribly injured.
Sallian took Xena to an emergency vet, where she was examined and given pain relief. The vet believes that Xena's injuries look like hot oil has caused the damage, causing her skin to melt, leaving severe open wounds.
This girl did not get to the middle of nowhere so badly injured by herself 🤬
For the visitors this was not what they were expecting to see, but the harsh reality of rescue.
Everyday there is something that will test your ability to remain positive, the challenge is real.
What gives rescuers the will to continue, it starts with a beautiful soul like Xena and the people rallying around to help her. The biggest reason will be Xena, herself, showing us that despite how badly she is injured, how badly she has been let down, her trust of us, her will and strength to survive, this is the only reason we need to continue to do what we do. If she still trusts humans then we have to still believe, and realize that whilst the worst of mankind continue to do these abhorrent things to innocent souls, the good still out weighs the bad 💞
