We were sent the first photo of Hope, and there was no question she really needed help.
Unfortunately she had been like this for six days. Six days which were essential for her to have the best chance of recovery. Now she is in the situation, that the affected area has started to die.. and her jaw is broken and permanently open 🥺
We were told that a larger dog had bitten her, there does not appear to be any bite marks, so we believe this trauma was done in a different way?
Little Hope is just 4 months old, and is already facing a huge challenge to survive. she is too young not to try to give her a chance.
We are sending her to a specialist to see what or if anything can be done. Unfortunately, after seeking specialist advice, three vets all had the same opinion, that in this case the only kind thing to do was to let Hope go.
Some people think we do too much to try to keep a dog going, when they look like there is no chance for them. We don’t, if it will cause the dog more suffering to keep them alive, we will do the right thing, even when doing the right thing is the hardest thing to do
